Many companies are posting their positions on various job boards. In some cases, depending on the urgency, they will place ads in multiple places to increase their exposure to the pool of potential candidates. There is only one problem with that method. It’s not very efficient. Besides, you only catch the attention of those actively looking. Not to mention when the applications, cover letters and resumes come in to be reviewed, most are from under-qualified or unqualified candidates.
I have heard candidates say. “I applied just because it was so easy” or even “Well, you never know until you try.”
This translates into ineffective spending and inefficient use of internal resources. We look at our network, plan a process to identify the skills and start making phone calls.
